The Cookeville 2030 Plan (PDF) was approved by the Planning Commission on October 25, 2010 and adopted by the City Council on December 16, 2010. This Plan serves as a general guide for the physical development of the city and the urban growth area. It presents goals, objectives and policies for future growth and development.

The Cookeville 2030 Plan replaced the Cookeville Comprehensive Future Land Use Plan (PDF) 1999 to 2010 adopted by the City Council on October 5, 2000.
Street & Land Use Plan Amendment
Amendments to the Major Street Plan (PDF) and the Future Land Use Concept Plan components were approved by the Planning Commission on May 21, 2012 and adopted by the City Council through Ordinance Number O12-06-08 on July 19, 2012.
Urban Growth Boundary
To comply with the provisions of Public Chapter 1101 the Cookeville Urban Growth Boundary Report (PDF) was prepared in 1999. This report identified the Cookeville Urban Growth Boundary. The growth boundary was approved by the Putnam County Coordinating Committee in October of 1999 and incorporated in the Putnam County Growth Plan. The Putnam County Growth Plan was ratified by the City Council on March 16, 2000. This county-wide growth plan was approved by the State Local Government Planning Advisory Committee in April of 2000.
