COOKEVILLE – Clearview Bluegrass will take the stage July 19 at Dogwood Park for Cookeville Leisure Service’s Third Thursday in the Park concert series.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

“Third Thursday concerts are a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty and serenity of Dogwood Park while also enjoying some great music,” Chad McDonald, Cookeville Leisure Services cultural arts superintendent, said. “It’s also an opportunity for families with small children and those with pets to attend in a ‘come and go’ atmosphere.”

Clearview Bluegrass is inspired by traditional bluegrass, gospel and old-time music. Members include Charles Geesling, banjo and baritone vocals; Jackson Carter, mandolin, clawhammer banjo, tenor and lead vocals; Brock Ealey, rhythm and lead guitar and lead vocals; and Jacob Gray, upright bass, rhythm guitar and lead vocals.

“It is our honor and privilege to help preserve this music of great artists both past, present and for the future,” band members said on the cover of their latest album, “Smokey Mountain Smoke.”

The summer’s final Third Thursday concert is scheduled for Aug. 16. The series is presented by Cookeville Leisure Services with additional funding from the Cookeville Arts Council.

Concert-goers may use the permanent amphitheater-style seating in the park or bring lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions are available.
