[ARCHIVED] Lane Changes and Partial Closures Begin April 29 on East 10th Street

Beginning Tuesday, April 29, vehicles traveling along East 10th Street should anticipate multiple lane shifts in the area between Wilson Avenue and Fisk Road.

As Phase II of the East 10th Street Widening Project continues, the City’s contractors at Rogers Group plan to shift the traffic pattern and begin paving on the north side of the street.

Traffic barrels and cones will be placed to navigate drivers through the new lane-shift patterns. Drivers should anticipate lane shifts for the remainder of this project, which is nearing completion.

Drivers should also continue to be mindful of temporary traffic stops. At times, workers may need to use one or both lanes to move equipment and other materials to new areas of the work site. Most traffic stops will be mere minutes in length.

Also on Tuesday, April 29, the intersection of East 10th Street and Fisk Road will experience partial lane closures for street milling. These closures will be intermittent and affect all lane directions at various points throughout the day. The intersection will fully reopen once milling is finished in the late afternoon.

The City of Cookeville appreciates the continued support of its residents and visitors as major infrastructure improvements are being made.
