[ARCHIVED] Public Notice: City Working to Restore Power to Residents

Following last night's severe winds, the City of Cookeville experienced widespread power outages, including a loss of service to an electrical substation and three circuits. The substation was promptly restored, returning power to approximately 5,000 residents in less than thirty minutes. The Energy Department continued to work throughout the night to restore power to other affected areas.

Currently, fewer than 200 customers remain without power, with five utility lines still requiring repairs. These outages are dispersed across several areas of the city, with the majority located north of Spring Street.

Our utility crews are working diligently to restore service to all affected residents. We appreciate your continued patience and support as we work to resolve these outages. Thank you.
