Cookeville City Manager, James Mills is pleased to announce that Jenni Nisewander has been appointed to serve as the Finance Director Designee in preparation for the retirement of longtime Finance Director Brenda Imel. While Imel's official retirement date has not yet been determined, this transition will allow Jenni to work closely with Brenda over the coming months to ensure a seamless shift in leadership.
Ms. Nisewander brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University (TTU) and a Master of Business Administration from TTU. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO).
Before joining the City of Cookeville, Jenni spent nearly 15 years at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) on Arnold Air Force Base in TN, where she worked in accounting. She has been with the City of Cookeville since 2022, gaining valuable municipal finance experience.
A native of Doyle, TN, Jenni attended White County High School and has strong ties to the local community. She resides in Cookeville with her husband, Jered, and their son, Carter.
