A full overnight closure of East 10th Street takes place Sunday, August 25. The closure will shut down all lanes of traffic from 8 p.m. on August 25 to 7 a.m. on August 26. This closure is in effect for the section of East 10th Street between Fisk Road and Old Kentucky Road.
A detour will be in place with appropriate signage and barricades to guide drivers around the closure (see attached map for details).
All streets connecting to this section of East 10th Street will also be closed to all traffic, except for residents and emergency vehicles. These streets include Wilson Avenue, Bilbrey Avenue, Country Club Road, North Pickard Avenue, Shanks Avenue, and both sides of Wall Avenue.
We ask that all drivers and residents use alternative routes to reach their destinations. Since Wall Avenue and Country Club Road do not have alternative access points, traffic will be directed as follows:
· Wall Avenue North residents will continue straight across to Wall Avenue South, which has alternate routes available.
· Country Club Road residents will be redirected to North Pickard Avenue, which also has alternate route options.
This closure is part of Phase II of the City of Cookeville's East 10th Street Widening Project. For more updates form the City of Cookeville, visit the official City website at cookeville-tn.gov.
