The City of Cookeville is proud to introduce Haley Smith as the city’s first Communications and Marketing Manager. This newly created position aims to enhance connectivity and engagement between the city and its residents.
Smith, a Cookeville local, expressed enthusiasm for her forthcoming role. "This is such an exciting opportunity,” says Smith. “I look forward to keeping our community engaged in the major projects and changes happening in Cookeville.”
As the Communications and Marketing Manager, Smith will report directly to James Mills, Cookeville City Manager.
“The need for this position has grown over time, mirroring the growing demand for accessible and reliable online information,” says Mills. “Haley’s expertise will ensure our ability to effectively disseminate essential information, engage citizens, and meet the evolving needs of our population."
Smith brings five years of professional experience to the new role. Most recently, she excelled as the Marketing and Communications Manager for Cookeville's Department of Leisure Services. Prior to her work with the city, Smith served as the Communications and Brand Manager for the international nonprofit Flint Global Partners, Inc. She is also a dedicated board member for Helping Hands of Putnam County.
As Communications and Marketing Manager, Smith will grow the city’s social media presence, manage the city’s website, and create new systems and strategies for informing the public of the city’s project and municipal services.
