[ARCHIVED] Dogwood Park Fountain Closed for Repairs

The Department of Leisure Services reports the fountain at Dogwood Park is temporarily closed for essential repairs. Effective immediately, pedestrian barricades have been erected around the fountain area. Repairs should begin before the end of this week.

The timeline for restoration is currently unknown. “The fountain has developed several significant leaks within its central stone-column,” reports Rick Woods, Director of Leisure Services. “Until the column has been dismantled, we won’t know the extent of the damage or how long it will take to repair.”

For public safety, Leisure Services requests that visitors to Dogwood Park avoid the fenced-off fountain area while repairs are underway. The department also asks the Cookeville community for its patience and support throughout the restoration process.

For more information about the fountain’s closure, visit the Leisure Services administrative office at 10 East Broad Street or call 931-520-4386.
