On September 21, 2023, the Cookeville City Council toured the new Cookeville Police Department Mobile Command Center that was recently purchased to enhance the department’s ability to respond effectively to a range of critical situations such as rescue operations and natural disasters. The center will strengthen public safety and community support efforts across the city while proving to be a valuable resource during large-scale public events. In addition to providing a visible security presence, it will also serve as a mobile command post for law enforcement personnel. Because it is mobile, the command center can be strategically positioned to provide security for crowds, prompt response to incidents, and positive engagement with the community.
