As warmer weather is here, the City of Cookeville would like to remind utility customers with pets outdoors, meters are being accessed. For the safety of your pet and City Meter Readers, please contact Customer Service to be advised of reading dates. For customer convenience, an email or notification can be sent to advise of reading dates, allowing for efficient access, all the while keeping the safety of your pets and City Staff as a top priority.

Meter Readers as well as other utility department staff must have access to Electric, Water and Gas Meters. Unfortunately, occasionally staff does encounter pets that react to their presence. To ensure a positive outcome we would like to encourage utility customers to contact Jennifer Kelsey to discuss how solutions can be implemented.

As we all enjoy the great outdoors, including our pets, please be mindful of the safety of the City Meter Readers and Utility Staff as they work diligently to provide services to our citizens.
