The City of Cookeville has been made aware of a social media account purporting to be the City’s official account. The Instagram account “thecityofcookeville” is not an official municipal account. It is not endorsed, affiliated with, or managed by the City or elected leadership.

Due to multiple inquiries and concerns related to controversial posts recently made by this user, the City Council felt it prudent to notify the public. The City’s legal team is aware of this account and the account holder.

Reports are the account holder of the Instagram page “thecityofcookeville” has now updated their information. Hopefully this will help to clarify to any followers and/or users that they are not operating or posting on the City’s behalf. You may find the City’s official social media pages through the links on our website www.cookeville-tn.gov

Thank you to the citizens that have reported this to us and brought to our attention. Please feel free to contact City Hall to inquire about official City of Cookeville media outlets at 931-526-9591.
