[ARCHIVED] June 13 'history hike' will be an online museum bingo game

COOKEVILLE – Instead of strolling, this month’s History Hike requires scrolling.

The virtual activity is actually a bingo game with an “In Case You Missed It” theme. Participants are invited to play on June 13 between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Game cards and questions will be posted on the Cookeville History Museum and Cookeville Depot Facebook pages.

“We’ll have different cards for each museum,” Ashley McKee, Cookeville museums education specialist, said. “The cards will be filled with answers to coordinating questions from last month’s ‘quarantine content’ found on the museums’ Facebook pages,” McKee said. “Search through videos or any of our other weekly posts, such as Artifact of the Week.”

Players may make a B-I-N-G-O in any direction to be entered in a prize drawing sponsored by Cookeville Bullseye and The Art Jam. Fill the entire card and get 12 entries.

“You can submit multiple bingos, just like in regular bingo,” McKee said.

Participants can mark their bingo cards digitally using smartphone apps like Markup. Entries (completed questions and bingo cards) and contact information should be sent via direct messaging to either of the museum’s Facebook pages. The drawing will take place at 3 p.m.

“I recently played a small business bingo game and had so much fun with it that I had to try to make one for the museums,” McKee said. “It definitely inspired me.”
