[ARCHIVED] Respond to the 2020 Census today!

2020Census

The 2020 Census has started, and it’s your chance to shape the future for yourself, your family, and your community. Information collected in the census informs how billions of dollars in federal funding are distributed to states and communities each year.

With the devastation that Cookeville and Putnam County has faced this year, the census is more important than ever to insure that we receive adequate funding for our community.

Census data impacts funding for things like:

  • Education programs and grants
  • Emergency Services
  • Health Care
  • Public transportation
  • Medicare and Medicaid
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
  • Libraries
  • Community centers
  • School meal programs
  • Parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities

You can respond online, by phone, or by mail. Regardless of how you choose to respond, your information will be kept confidential. We want you to do the Census as soon as you can — but we are taking responses for the next several months.
