Make sure you are counted in the 2020 census - it’s fast, it’s easy and it’s online! Each household should have received an invitation by mail to respond.

For the first time, you can RESPOND ONLINE, BY PHONE, OR BY MAIL, all without leaving the safety of your own home. While you are practicing “social distancing,” you can respond to the census while at home – this will help us reduce the number of census takers we will need to send door-to-door to count those households that don’t respond to the 2020 Census.

Census Day is not like Election Day – you can still respond after Wednesday, April 1st. We want you to do the Census as soon as you can — but we are taking responses for the next several months.

Census results affect your voice in government, how much funding of federal and state dollars our community receives, and how our community plans for the future. It is extremely important to make sure all members of your household are counted.

The Census takes place every ten years, don’t miss your opportunity to participate in this very important process!  Every person matters for the future of Cookeville and Putnam County.

If someone has not received a letter, they can go online to census.gov and click on Respond Now. It just takes a few minutes to complete the form.
