Cookeville Community Band presents a holiday concert at CPAC

COOKEVILLE – A free holiday outing awaits music lovers Sunday at Cookeville Performing Arts Center.

Cookeville Community Band will present its annual holiday concert at 3 p.m. at 10 E. Broad St.

“There will be moments of peaceful beauty, rollicking fun, and sheer exuberance and joy as the band performs all the moods and sentiments of this wonderful time of year,” Carroll Gotcher, conductor, said.

The band will present a wide variety of holiday selections, including a percussion ensemble feature on “Ukrainian Bell Carol,” a setting of Gustav Holst’s “Winter Suite,” Clare Grundman’s “Three Noels,” a selection of country-styled Christmas songs, and a special presentation of “Krampus Tale,” along with traditional favorites like “Sleigh Ride” and “A Christmas Festival.”

Cookeville Community Band consists of school band directors, college professors, college and high school students and local musicians, both active and retired, from the Upper Cumberland area.

“Join us for a unique and touching start to the Christmas Season,” Gotcher said.

The band also performs a series of free summer concerts at Dogwood Park.
