Cookeville Leisure Services celebrates opening of Cane Creek Pickleball Courts

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — The City of Cookeville Department of Leisure Services hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Pickleball Courts at Cane Creek Park, 201 CC Camp Road.

The new complex includes eight outdoor pickleball courts, a covered pavilion seating area and a new parking lot to better serve players and visitors. The facility is designed for players of all ages and skill levels, including ADA-accessible options.

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country, and the new courts provide a dedicated space for both recreational and competitive play in Cookeville. The facility will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with designated reservable times managed by Cookeville Leisure Services.

“We’re thrilled to open this new facility for our community,” said Chad McDonald, director of Leisure Services. “Pickleball has seen incredible growth in Cookeville over the past few years, and these courts provide a high-quality space that promotes an active lifestyle and community connection.”

Seth Bruton, athletic superintendent for Cookeville Leisure Services, said the department has already seen strong interest from players. “These courts were designed with accessibility, safety and fun in mind,” Bruton said. “Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or playing competitively, Cane Creek Park now offers a welcoming place for everyone to enjoy the game.

”City officials, staff and community members attended the ceremony, which featured remarks from city representatives and a ribbon cutting, followed by open play on the new courts.
