The City of Cookeville is installing a new three-way stop at the intersection of West Broad Street and North Oak Avenue on Monday, August 11. This change is being implemented to enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
The updated intersection will now require all drivers to come to a complete stop before proceeding, regardless of direction. Drivers must also yield to pedestrians at intersection crosswalks.
Drivers and pedestrians should act with caution when approaching and traveling through the intersection, particularly as the community adjusts to the new traffic control measures.
