Cookeville’s Heart of the City Playground will be closed this upcoming Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 18 - 19. The City’s Department of Leisure Services reports that the closure is necessary for important repairs to the playground’s shock-absorbing surface.
Workers will be onsite on Monday, Nov. 18, to complete the repairs. The surface will need at least 24 hours to cure, so the playground will remain closed throughout Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Leisure Services Director, Rick Woods, expects the playground to reopen by Wednesday, Nov. 20, or Thursday, Nov. 21, at the latest. The playground’s gate will remain locked during the closure with signs posted to remind people that the playground is closed.
