[ARCHIVED] The Water Dept is ending its request for a voluntary reduction in water usage from all customers.

The City of Cookeville Department of Water Quality Control is ending its request for a voluntary reduction in water usage from all customers on the Cookeville water system.  These customers include the cities of Algood, Baxter, and Cookeville in addition to the Bangham Utility District, Cookeville Boat Dock Road Utility District, Double Springs Utility District, and Gainesboro Grade Utility District. The Department’s water tank levels have now returned to normal operating levels.  Usage is still slightly higher than usual, but we are able to keep up with the demand.  We ask customers who still have leaks to get them repaired and if anyone sees a leak to report it.

We would like to thank the customers that reduced their water consumption,  repaired their leaks, and/or reported leaks during this period.  We would like to also thank the O’Conner Utility for switching off of our system during this period of high-water demand.   We regret any inconvenience that this may have caused our customers and thanks for your patience.

If you have any questions concerning this issue or need to report a water leak, please contact the Department at 520-5227 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For after hours emergencies, please call the Cookeville Police Department at 526-2125 and they will contact on-call personnel.
