Effective immediately, a burn ban is in effect for the City of Cookeville until further notice. Due to recent and current dry conditions, open burning is too hazardous at this time.
The ban on burning will be in effect until significant rainfall is received. If you have a current permit, it will be considered “void” until the ban is lifted. We will notify the public when the ban is lifted.
