The City of Cookeville recently experienced a lake turn over on Center Hill Lake. This caused an increase in algae in the lake water that we treat. We also have an on going construction project at the water plant which prevented us from feeding an optimum dose of activated carbon to completely remove some of the musty taste people may be experiencing. We have adjusted our treatment process to address the issue. The water is safe and meets all standards and the musty taste should clear up in a few days.
