City of Cookeville to Host Annual Dogapalooza at Cane Creek Dog Park

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The City of Cookeville Department of Leisure Services will present its annual Dogapalooza event Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cane Creek Dog Park. The free community event will feature dog-related vendors, adoptable pets, activities for dogs, pup cups, giveaways, food, music, contests and more.

The annual Top Dog contest will be decided through a combination of public voting and judge selection before the event. Community members may submit entries by commenting on the official contest post on the Cookeville Leisure Services Facebook page from Aug. 18 through Aug. 25. The 10 dogs with the most likes will move on to the final round, where a panel of judges will determine the 2025 Top Dog.

Dogapalooza is currently accepting vendor applications and sponsorships from local businesses and community members.

“Dogapalooza has become a tradition our community looks forward to each year,” Recreation Superintendent Cara Sheets said. “It’s a day for dog lovers to come together, enjoy time with their pets and celebrate our canine community.”

A new addition this year invites kids to put their pups in the spotlight with two fun contests: Best Costume and Best Trick.

Leisure Services Director Rick Woods said the event offers something for everyone.
“The event not only provides fun and entertainment, but also gives opportunities to learn about local pet services, meet adoptable dogs and support the many organizations that make Cookeville a great place for pets and their owners,” he said.

Cane Creek Dog Park is at 201 C C Camp Road. Admission is free, and all well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.
