Responsibilities

The City Clerk’s Office is the official record keeping department within the City for all City Council, Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABCB) and Animal Control Board (ACB) Official Minute Action Records; preparing all meeting agendas and minutes for the same. The City Clerk’s Office monitors expiration dates, maintains lists of all city boards, and maintains records of executed original documents such as:

  • Agreements
  • Contracts
  • Deeds
  • Oaths
  • Ordinances
  • Petitions
  • Resolutions

The City Clerk’s Office also keeps records of all city vehicles and equipment and holds original titles. In addition, it keeps the Municipal Code book updated; it prepares proper documents and maintains files for bond issues; and it issues beer, noise and parade/street closure permits. The City Clerk attends all City Council Meetings, work sessions, ABCB and ACB meetings and is the official keeper of the records of the meetings. It also provides notary acts for city business and the general public.

Disposal of City Surplus

The disposal of city used vehicles, equipment and miscellaneous items can be viewed and bid on through GovDeals. Occasionally the city will have a local auction, open to the public, which will be announced in the legal section of the local newspaper.
